When Vector contracted Cassidy to upgrade its Mt Albert Zone Substation, the presence of a live transformer in the tight working site added health and safety considerations – but the team’s experience and rigorous procedures ensured the job was completed safely and within its allotted programme.
Getting the structural steel and precast panels into the tight site in a busy retail and residential area posed logistical challenges, but we managed it with early traffic management planning, and collaborative involvement from our key subcontractors.
The Cassidy team added value for the client by coming up with bespoke solutions to get the look they wanted for the site. We carried the design of the palisade security fencing across into the main entrance gate to achieve a consistent look, and shaped up a landscaping scheme to minimise future maintenance.
