Cassidy Construction was the main contractor charged with constructing and commissioning this new water treatment plant in the Rodney district north of Auckland.
Significant growth in the region meant that the project needed to be fast-tracked for completion ahead of its original schedule. To facilitate this, the design and construction phases had to overlap, with the build 75 percent complete before the detailed design was finished. Cassidy was involved from the preliminary design stage, offering construction design input to address issues before they arose.
The success of this complex technical build required a high level of communication between all stakeholders, including the client, designer, local government, contractor and sub-contractors.
