At NZ Steel’s Glenbrook Steel Mill in Waiuku the Cassidy team was entrusted with the job of constructing a new billet caster foundation and ladle furnace using block masonry structures and reinforced concrete.
The project involved 1000m3 of concrete, 121,120kg of reinforcing steel, and about 6000 dedicated Cassidy team hours plus additional subcontractor work over a six-month programme.
We achieved this without interruption to the steel mill’s ongoing production facilities.
