When Auckland Council sought a contractor to build this new amenities block at Te Puke ō Tara Sports Park in Ōtara, Cassidy Construction brought extensive prior experience in similar projects to the job. The simple but robust building houses changing rooms, showers, toilets and storage facilities for the use of local sports teams.
The precast external and internal walls are set on a raised concrete slab supported by blockwork and precast panel retaining walls. The roof structure is held up by legs mounted on top of the precast wall panels, allowing natural ventilation throughout the interior spaces. The raised flooring slab extends beyond the building’s footprint to create a viewing platform overlooking the fields and also to allow for a large sports equipment storage area underneath.
Decorative metalwork completes the façade design and bespoke metal doors ensure security and longevity for this quality community facility.
