At Cassidy Construction, we’re proud of our focus on developing our people. With a dedicated in-house training team working across the business, we invest in building capability so our teams can deliver high standards of workmanship and quality across every project.
We train our own
How we invest in our people
- Everyone who joins our team is supported from day one, starting with a comprehensive induction programme, followed by regular check-ins and more structured reviews over time.
- Each team member sets their own goals as part of their individual development plan.
- Our verification-of-competency processes give us confidence that our people have the knowledge and skills to work safely and consistently across diverse environments.
- Our career pathways include carpentry and drainlayer apprenticeships, construction management, engineering, and quantity surveyor graduate programmes.
- We train and promote from within our teams, strengthening retention and embedding our knowledge, standards and ways of working over time.
- Our internal subject matter experts also work with suppliers, subcontractors and clients to support capability and growth across the wider sector.
Q&A
Q: How does Cassidy approach learning and development differently?
A: We take a hands-on, practical approach to development. Rather than relying on one-off training, we support our people continuously – on site, in real projects, and over the long term.
It’s not common in our industry to have a dedicated learning and development function, but for us it’s a priority. Our role is to make sure every person has the support, training and opportunities they need to perform at a high level, no matter what their role is.
Q: What kind of learning opportunities do your people have?
A: Learning takes many forms at Cassidy. This includes on-the-job coaching, face-to-face workshops, online learning, and external training with industry experts. We focus on making learning practical and relevant, so it can be applied directly to the work our people are doing, whether on-site or office-based.
Q: What’s your in-house trainer’s role?
A: Having an in-house trainer allows us to tailor development to our projects and our people. It means training is practical, targeted and aligned with how we actually work, so learning can be applied immediately on-site and in the office.
