Since our beginnings in the spare bedroom of a Mt Eden villa a quarter of a century ago, we have been steered by the values of professionalism, integrity and a commitment to excellence. We figure we must be doing something right, because about 90 percent of our business now comes from loyal repeat clients who have found us to be a straight-up, no-nonsense building partner.

Cassidy Construction was established in the year 2000 by Steve Cassidy, a civil engineer with a passion for construction. Our first jobs were engineering-based projects for the likes of Lion, Ford Motor Company, Watercare and Tip Top. Since then, we may have only moved a few hundred metres from Horopito Street to our purpose-built head office in George Street, but we’ve come a long way in terms of our capability.
Today, Cassidy Construction is still owned and run by constructors and retains the people-focused culture and strong shared values of a family business. Many of our people have been with us since the start of our journey. Steve remains a key member of our hands-on board of directors, which is responsible for steering the future direction of the company.

Building a reputation
Fast-forward nearly three decades and thousands of successful construction contracts, and we now work nationwide for a solid cadre of blue-chip clients. Our team is big enough to provide robust, resilient and professional service, but small enough to care about getting every detail right. We take pride in the fact that so much of our work is for repeat clients, including some for whom we have completed hundreds of projects.
The size of our projects has grown over time too. While we still undertake short-term minor works and significant maintenance projects, we have extensive experience in delivering large-scale vertical builds and infrastructure, expansions and upgrade programmes that run over several years. Being integrated with horizontal and vertical works, we have the resources and experience to deliver across nine sectors, while our self-performing capability means we can be agile and responsive to our clients’ needs.
