Oji Paper Packaging Facility

PROJECT CASE STUDY

Oji Fibre Solutions

Penrose, Auckland

April 2016 – March 2017

Australasia’s largest fibre-based packaging manufacturer engaged us to construct a 3800m2 warehouse extension around an operating manufacturing plant, including work within hygiene areas where food packaging was made.

Our role involved upgrading the hygiene facility to current food manufacturing standards, as well as work on the internal offices, industrial hall transition zone, pallet store, fork hoist corridor and hardstand pavement area.

We also upgraded the existing building to the current fire code by installing a new sprinkler system, pump house and underground mains piping. Plus, we installed an extensive new mechanical ventilation system in the hygiene, office and production areas.

Our programme was phased to facilitate installation of new manufacturing equipment without disrupting the client’s production schedule, and accelerated to meet deadlines requested by the client. This accelerated programme meant it was critical that we had the resource and risk controls in place to ensure that our people, client staff and logistic operators could operate safely.
