Previously home to the Red Baron Motorcycles workshop and dealership, we redeveloped the building at 299 Great North Road into 4 separate architecturally featured showroom/retail spaces.
The roof, floor slabs, masonry block walls and much of the structural steel were retained and re-worked. This required creative problem solving and responsive design changes to overcome the challenges of aligning the existing structure to the new fit-out.
The new design has extensive metalwork features including clear coated raw steel, large window shrouds, and an external spiral staircase.
The cladding consisted of curtain frameless glass, Alucobond ACM cladding, and Rockcote plaster to existing blockwork.
Internal linings included fire rated mezzanine floor, CLD batten features to ceilings, polished concrete floors including in the former workshop.
