In Riverhead, Cassidy demolished the old and tired Z Service Station, removing all structures including the shop, office and mechanics. We stripped the existing forecourt, removed the old tanks, subterranean structures and contaminated materials.
When the site was completely cleared, we constructed a new, un-manned, pay at pump, Caltex Station. The project involved sheet piling, installation of new tanks and then the construction of a new canopy, pumps, and services room.
The job came with a number of challenges, including the tightness of the site and the considerations needed to take into account the local residents. Constant traffic management and consent constraints around the demolitions and excavation also added to the complexity.
