At this site northwest of Auckland, Cassidy replaced a tired old Z service station with a new pay-at-pump Caltex.
Having demolished all the old service station structures, including the shop, office and mechanics, we stripped the existing forecourt and removed the old tanks, subterranean structures and contaminated materials.
Once the site was cleared, we constructed the unmanned Caltex station. The project involved sheet piling, installation of new tanks and then the construction of a new canopy, pumps and services room.
The job came with a number of challenges, including the tightness of the site, constant traffic management and the need to minimise disruption for local residents. Consent constraints around the demolition and excavation also added complexity.
