Kumeu Daycare is a new-build construction project for an existing client who wanted to work with Cassidy Construction for their second build of this type together.
This unique multi-roomed day-care facility is designed by award-winning Collingridge and Smith Architects to cater for 120 children from 0 to 5 years. They have created generous spaces with 5.0m high raked ceilings and large windows and doors leading out to a covered hardwood deck give the areas a bright and open feel.
Internal wall coverings of printed vinyl sheet match the external profiled metal cladding in a printed wood grain finish to blend seamlessly between the indoor and outdoor spaces. Dark corrugate feature panels and polished concrete floors give are intended to give the rooms calming, natural feel.
To assist in getting the project underway our pricing team worked closely with the client and looked into the design and possible alternate materials for potential cost savings to the overall project.
The building, grounds and carpark were completed in time a new beginning for the facility and a new start for the children in 2020.
