Auckland International Airport
Māngere, Auckland
October 2022 – March 2023
Durability and low maintenance were top of brief when Auckland International Airport commissioned two similar buildings to receive incoming fibre optic cabling
and distribute the network throughout the airport grounds.
The larger of the two is this 88m² single-level building with two secure external compounds that house the mechanical plant and generator.
Built to last and to safeguard its high-tech contents, the Northern Demarcation Communications Building has a 150mm-thick floor, precast panel walls with in-situ stitch joins and a unispan flatslab roof. The exterior is finished with profiled metal cladding on a cavity system and a pre-formed warm roof with membrane, and the interior is finished with an airtight membrane and anti-static vinyl floor.
We also installed extensive remote building management systems to control the internal climate, security, fire system and backup generator.
