St Luke’s Church

PROJECT CASE STUDY

Catholic Diocese of Auckland

Flat Bush, Auckland

November 2019 - May 2021

The parish of St Luke’s Flat Bush is the first newly established parish in 40 years. We were honoured to be chosen as the main contractor for the construction of this modern, architectural church facility.

The site adjoins Sancta Maria College and Primary. Careful consideration and co-ordination was required to ensure minimal disruption to the school.

Structural works for this 1200m3 single-level church involved a complex structural steel, 6m tall in-situ concrete portal frame and patterned pre-cast panels up to 14m high. Cladding also included Hermpac cedar timber and aluminium composite paneling.

Intricate craftmanship was required for the detailed internal finishes and a multitude of linings that complement the digiprint picture glass features.

Other features include a specialised audio visual  system, timber pews for 800 people and a marble altar.

Site works included detailed landscaping, carpark, new entrance road and widening of Chapel Road.
