Well-Connected Alliance
New Windsor, Auckland
July 2013 – January 2014
Located at the eastern end of the Southwestern Motorway, this job was part of the Waterview Connection project. Our brief was to construct a new spoil-handling building with a structural steel envelope and Colorsteel roofing and cladding. The purpose of this building, which had a footprint of approximately 5000m2, was to house the material that was removed as the tunnel boring machines progressed underground. This material was subsequently shipped to a managed landfill in Wiri.
To meet resource consent conditions designed to minimise impact on the neighbouring residential properties, we installed extensive acoustic linings on the interior walls.
On completion of the tunnel boring we were engaged under a new contract to deconstruct the building.
