Waikato WTP Chemical Systems and Electrical Upgrades
PROJECT CASE STUDY
Watercare
Tuakau, North Waikato
July 2026 – Present
We are well underway on a major project to upgrade the electrical and chemical systems at Watercare’s Waikato Water Treatment Plant in Tuakau.
We have phased our extensive programme of work over 12 months to allow the plant to remain operational throughout.
The job involves removing eight hypo, coagulant, lime and hydrofluorosilicic acid tanks and replacing them with new tanks and a wash-down area.
We’ll also install new containment bunds with resistant linings, as well as new associated plant, pipework, electricals and equipment.
Once the tanks are installed, we’ll erect a new structural steel structure with metal wall and roof cladding to match the adjoining building. Internal access stairs and walkways will be installed for servicing, as well as new mechanical, fire protection and roof access.
